Hiroshi Koike, artistic director of the compny since its foundation, has been a pioneer in Japanese contemporary performing arts. He majored in Sociology in Hitotsubashi University. He has gained a worldwide reputation for Pappa Tarahumara through past tours in the U.K., U.S., Germany, France, Belgium, Holland, Australia, and other 30 countries and has led more than 45 productions. Koike is also a director of a performing art institution, P.A.I.-Pappa Tarahumara Performing Arts Institute, and makes a great effort to educate and foster young artists today.
